# 4th grade math homework packets

Homework Expectations for 4th grade I assign a weekly HW packet, which is due on Fridays. Homework is Part of this is their DAILY PRACTICE OF THEIR MATH.

One way to counter that argument is to align our homework to standards. My district is beginning to align itself with Common Core State Standards.

I have been having a hard time finding work created and aligned to Common Core. So, I created my first monthly math pack aligned to said standards.

This pack includes 4 weeks around problems of Common Core aligned math homework, ready to print! Each week is broken down by days.

Each day is broken into clusters- Monday is OA, Tuesday is NBT, Wednesday is NF, Thursday is MD, and Friday is G. Each cluster is then broken down into specific strands.

This means that your students will be practicing one specific strand in each cluster every week. I sent home a reading log each Monday and it was due the following Monday.

Spelling homework went home Monday and was due Friday. Math homework was assigned as needed. The first page has their spelling words and their reading log.

My kiddos are expected to read 60 minutes a week. Packets originally went home on Monday and were due Friday, so this was twenty minutes a night. Packets now go home on Friday and are due the following Friday. Some of my kids also work towards their reading minutes on the weekend too.

Most of my kids LOVE reading so it's not uncommon to see reading log minutes in excess of one hundred or two hundred minutes. The next two pages have to do with their spelling homework.
